Normally I will sit back and rant on about a few topics that are going on in baseball but for today I am locking my lasers on one guy:
Jose Canseco
The Tell all book is coming,
Jose Canseco and Ken Caminiti are each writting tell all books out the seedy underworld that is MLB.
Canseco has even gone as far as to say that he is so angry with MLB that he is selling everything he owns that has to do with Baseball.
I heard an interview he gave ion the Fan where he credits himself with being the prototype player and the reason why MLB teams started making thei players use steriods.
"They saw a guy who was big can hit 40 Homeruns and steal 40 bases and plays great defence"
"When I started lifting weights was (frowned upon) but after me it was required even pitchers"
Ummmmmmmmmm
Jose your defence was awful, you were just a big bat with a .266 lifetime average which is pretty average in baseball.
Jose went on to claim that he is blackballed in baseball and has been invited to Spring Training by serveral teams but only if he doesn't write the book.
Look Jose, let me start by listing the teams that gave up on you:
Chicago White Sox x2
Montreal Expos
Angels of Anaheim
New York Yankees
Tampa Bay Devil Rays
Boston Red Sox
Texas Rangers
Oakland Athletics (second time around)
The only team that didn't srop him like a sack of Potatos was The Toronto Blue Jays,
He claims Gord Ash came to him and said take a Million or leave. He felt that this was the begining of his "blackballing"
Look Jose, you were old and you showed it the next season with the Devils Rays.
This really gets me, Doe he need money?
That has to be it ? or is he mad that he can't hack it in Baseball anymore?
I mean four teams wavied him in two season?
one of which was the Expos? I mean I think it has something to do wth the fact that he hit under .200 in spring training that did him in.
I don't see if baseball is this bad why reputable players don't write about it?
I mean the two dregs of baseball are writting tell all books?
The two players who I would never want my kids to idolize are unloading the landry of baseball.
My comment to Jose is after the inital sales of you book drop off and you are looking for work my driveway needs tarring.
