On Augest 29 Tom was honored at the game and had his name put up at the level of excellence with his 4306 consective regular season games beside his name. Tom also brought his smile and his charm back to Roger Center and to the rest of Canada. Tom is still not in Cooperstown but in years to come will see if goes through those doors just like he has already walked threw the golden gates of heaven
Tom is survived by his wife Shirley (who's canadian) and there three children and seven grand children. Tom was great announcer who never missed a Blue Jays game and who can announce every play like you were right there sitting there with your cup of beer and can hear the coaches next move. He touched people alround Canada and never missed a beat. His favorite quote was in Toronto in 1993 in game 6 of the World Series when Joe Carter come up to bat
"Touch'em all Joe,"You never hit a bigger home run in your life."
Rest in peace Tom Cheeks thanks for all the moments and all the people you touched and we say to you "Touch'em all Tom,touch'em all,we will never forget all the memories you given us and we say thank you""
